A New Start

I hope. Since early summer my PhD progress has been apalling. Yesterday I got pissed with a previous PhD student from my bio lab and had a mega moaning session which was pretty useful. I've got loads off my chest and feel determined to start my biology (phage display) work again, properly to the best of my abilities. I've been waiting for motivation to strike but I don't think that's at all likely. My supervisor is lovely but totally useless at getting work out of people So if motivation isn't going to hit me I'm going to have to be a stubborn bitch and just get on with the job in hand and get it done and out of the way as soon as possible. I will try and record my progress here as it would be good to be faced in black and white exactly how much I have or haven't achieved.

I will report back once I do various constructive things.

Comments:
Well I managed to get myself to stores and have post it notes, paper, and a big new lab book and have put on a new bacterial culture to mess about with and infect tomorrow.

You see now that sounds interesting - what did you infect it with?

I'm meant to infect the bacteria with bacteriophages which display antibodies selective against ubiquitin and BSA. But I haven't done anything and have decided I will go back to my chemical ways and stop the biology.

Aaaaaww! But what about the bacteriophages?! How can you not want to work with something with a name like that? Bacteriophage Bacteriophage Bacteriophage. Aces.
